Thirty-two ~ 2022 Coach K Memorial Mile

Woohoo! I finally made it to an in-person walk and had company on the "trail"...er...track. The Coach Kambestad Memorial Mile is held each year to raise money for a scholarship in honor of Coach K. I attended the very first one in 2017 and met the coach's wife, Bobbie. The connections continued and could become a great story, but suffice it to say, we were destined to be friends! I loved the few minutes I got to visit with her. Number 32 is in the books. Next up--unless something changes--is at Prairie Berry in July!

Thirty and Thirty-one--halfway there!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads and father figures! The walk I just finished was number thirty-one for me and was actually held on Mother's Day. The organization called Lach's Legacy sponsors Run for Their Lives, a 5K in memory of infants lost to SIDS. While I would have loved to be in Spearfish to walk with the group, today was a beautiful day to be alone on Red Owl Creek. I saw some of the hay Rob cut yesterday, blooming wildflowers, a bunny, and more. And I was out early enough to enjoy 72 degree air before the high 90s hit later today:-).

Walk number thirty was another Walk for Life sponsored by Black Hills Pregnancy Center. Once again I did it right here at home on May 18. (Pardon the black eye--had a fight with a panel with a little help from the bulls!) Next on my calendar is this year's Memorial Mile that honors Coach Kambestad in Rapid City and the Prairie Berry Wine Run in Hill City. Looking forward to walking with people!

Eighteen through Twenty-nine

 Well, I wish I could say that getting behind once made me stay caught up, but I am afraid it is even worse this time. It has been almost two years since I updated my blog. Thankfully I have kept walking although as predicted, all but one of them were done right here at home. I will include a few pictures, but many are all the same:). And I am happy to say with the walk I just signed up for, I am halfway to my goal  of 60 walks by 60 years!
